These are not aspirational statements. They describe the standard operating procedure for every job that passes through the workshop.
Everything documented in writing
Every job produces a service document. It describes what was found, what was done, and what the test results showed. You keep this alongside the watch.
Nothing done without your approval
For restoration work, each stage is quoted and requires explicit approval before proceeding. Unexpected findings are reported to you before the work continues.
Timing traces you can read
Rate regulation work produces printed before-and-after traces from the timing machine. The numbers are yours to keep and use as a reference at the next service.
Pressure test before and after
Water resistance work is verified at two points — before the gasket work begins and after reassembly. Both readings are recorded. There is no assumption that the case holds.
Original parts conserved first
The workshop's default is conservation, not replacement. Dials, hands, and components are preserved where possible. Replacement is a decision made jointly, not assumed.
Full photographic record
Heritage pieces are photographed at every stage of the work. A copy of the complete image archive accompanies the watch when it is returned to you.
Focused on mechanical movements
The workshop does not offer every watchmaking service. That is deliberate. The three services offered here — water resistance testing, timing regulation, and heritage restoration — are the areas where the team has the depth to do the work well and account for it in writing.
Razif Hamdan has been working on mechanical movements since 2009. Tham Kai Wen brings a background in metalwork that shapes how he assesses worn components and approaches fabrication for parts that can no longer be sourced. Siti Liana manages all case and gasket work alongside the documentation system that governs every job.
What this means in practice

The standard process for each job

A defined sequence for every job
The process is the same regardless of whether the job is a three-day gasket service or a twenty-week restoration project. Assessment, agreement, work, verification, documentation, return. Each step depends on the one before it.
For heritage work, the sequence includes a stage-by-stage structure: each phase is quoted separately, and the work pauses until you have reviewed the findings and given explicit approval to continue. This means the project remains under your direction from start to finish.
Pricing that reflects what the work actually involves
The workshop's prices are set at levels that allow the work to be done properly: with documentation, with verification, and without pressure to cut stages. The gasket service at RM 460 includes both the pre- and post-reassembly pressure test, the written record, and the crown tube inspection. The timing regulation at RM 780 includes the 48-hour observation cycle and the printed traces.
Heritage restoration is quoted in stages because the work does not follow a single predictable path. The starting figure of RM 4,700 covers the initial stages. Each subsequent stage is priced and approved before proceeding, which means you have an accurate picture of the cost at every point in the project.
How the work differs from the standard approach
Most watch repair shops handle the technical work competently. The differences appear in what they tell you, how they record it, and who makes the decisions.

What is not standard elsewhere
Printed timing machine traces
The before-and-after traces from the timing machine are printed on paper and returned with the watch. They show amplitude, beat error, and daily rate across six positions. This gives you a record you can compare at the next service, and a reference for what the movement was doing before the adjustment.
Restoration work that pauses on request
Heritage restoration can be halted at any point in the process. If circumstances change, or if findings at a particular stage lead you to reconsider the project, the work stops. You are charged only for what has been completed to that point. No project has a minimum commitment beyond the stage that has been approved.
Initial assessment before any commitment
Bringing a watch to the workshop for assessment does not commit you to any service. The assessment describes what is present, what might need attention, and what the appropriate service would involve. You decide whether to proceed, and if so, on which terms.
Scope that matches the piece
A watch worn daily for swimming needs something different from one that runs slow but is otherwise sound. The workshop's three services are designed to address specific conditions rather than offering an undifferentiated full service that may include work the piece does not need.
